I first started CrossFit as a conditioning program for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition.  I basically just wanted a gnarly workout that would prepare me for the rigors of BJJ tournaments. I had no idea that CrossFit had anything more to offer.

But after a few months of CrossFit I realized that I was performing better at my job.  My concentration and memory  improved dramatically.  I was sleeping more deeply and had lower levels of stress.

After a few more months, I had to buy all new clothes.  My waist size shrank 8 inches, and I shed around fifty pounds of fat!  Without any form of fad dieting or food deprivation my relationship with food became much healthier and I found myself making much better choices at the table.

After a year of CrossFit my wife commented that I was showing a patience and mental toughness that she’d never seen in me before. I realized that CrossFit is uniquely character-building.  There are few other areas in life where the related traits of humility and self-respect are so essential.

As a CrossFit instructor I work with all kinds of people, from BJJ competitors, to individuals who haven’t exercised in years.  My goal is always the same.  I want my athletes to feel the elation that comes with accomplishing something they thought was impossible before they stepped into my gym.
