When it comes to fitness, baby boomers really got a raw deal. They grew up in the seventies during the two biggest and weirdest fitness crazes known to man: jogging and body building. Together those two exercise modalities have come to dominate the fitness landscape all the way to the present. Have you ever wondered why LA fitness is full of pec decks and treadmills?
But how fit can you really be if your exemplars of health are Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jim Fixx? Actually we know the answer, because for most people, a “workout” consists of a forty minute plod on the treadmill followed by a bunch of bicep curls. Jogging and body building, the original odd couple.
Hmmmm, why don’t all these dudes at the globo gym look like Arnold?
But seriously, it’s alarming to find out just how sick baby boomers really are. Recent studies show that boomers have triple the rate of diabetes and double the cholesterol levels of their parents.
Gulp.
But there’s hope. If you’re a boomer and you’ve run out of holes in your belt, give CrossFit a try. Here are 8 reasons why CrossFit is right for you.

And let's not forget that a Boomer created CrossFit. Who else out there at TTCF is an official Boomer (born from '46 – '64)?
When are we getting a peck deck?
No sick boomer here–( but I do love jogging all the same).
Officially certified baby boomer here. Today I bumped into someone I hadn't seen in a while, and she commented that I looked different somehow (strongly implied that I had had cosmetic "work" done). No, the only work is the work demanded by Teddy and Hannah and Martha and Peter and Mike and Brock and Jake and the TTCF community.
