“You will not be punished for your anger. You will be punished by your anger.” – Buddha
Modernity is great in some ways. We get to enjoy wonders like the toilet and the iPhone. How did we ever get by without them?
On the other hand, we deal with irritations that were unthinkable just a few generations ago. Like traffic, sixty-hour work weeks and the cast of “the Jersey Shore.”
In olden times people probably had lots of healthy ways to channel aggression. Unfortunately modern social norms prohibit us from carrying around sharpened sticks and forming raiding parties to steal our neighbors’ horses. It’s just not practical anymore.
But humans are emotive beings, and anger is a valid emotion. How can we deal with it in a way that won’t end in a prison sentence?
Fortunately there is a very healthy way to blow off some steam. Do CrossFit.
CrossFit is the most primal experience most of us will ever have. We scream, run, jump, throw, lift, push, pull, shout, cry, collapse. And yes sometimes we barf.
It’s real.
Is your workout real?
